Community Enhancement


IFCAE can be hired to do community work.  An important part of IFCAE's mission is to improve the capacity of rural and urban communities to overcome social inequities and achieve social and ecologic sustainability.  We offer communities the tools needed to understand complex sociocultural factors, to plan and implement projects, and to identify ways for improving project success rates.

 
Our approach is to augment rather than compete with existing community projects and programs.  We draw on our strengths such as the use of ethnographic methods to gain in-depth understandings of the cultural fabric of communities and to work toward the development of lasting relationships with individuals and organizations.  Such methods are particularly useful for accessing hard to reach community sectors.  At IFCAE we value and incorporate experiential knowledge into scientifically valid materials, while respecting intellectual property rights.  We are skilled at translating complex analyses and ideas into useful materials suitable for broad audiences.
